Overall Responsibilities include:
Distribution and Client Service
Together with other company professionals, proactively develop opportunities to establish relationships with key insurance prospects and clients
Provide perspective on new developments and trends (i.e. regulatory changes, industry trend, etc.) To evaluate opportunities
Understand and leverage company product platform as well as new product launches and perform insurance specific criteria for “fit” of specific products to client’s needs
Participate in proposals, client sales and finals meetings, and continually improve marketing pitch books
Market and Investment Analysis
Develop and maintain a framework to analyze insurance industry opportunities, trends and strategies
Provide expert knowledge of existing as well as emerging regulation (i.e. Solvency 2 and IFRS 2) and potential impact on clients
Develop and maintain a framework to provide analysis on capital, tax, and financial reporting impact of opportunities
Advisory and Strategic Partnerships
Leverage investment strategy capabilities to provide ALM and liability driven solutions where applicable
Provide strategic advice and implications related to Investment portfolio asset class composition including fixed income, equities and alternatives as well as credit quality level
Working collaboratively with portfolio managers and investment strategists, propose optimal portfolio benchmarks, investment policy limits and guidelines
Facilitate development of strong ALM, ERM and economic capital management processes
Development and Use of ALM Infrastructure
Participate in the design and development of ALM infrastructure to support strategic advisory capabilities of insurance strategy group.
Building client specific analysis in their proprietary modelling environment
Working collaboratively with other strategists on development of new tools and capabilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Legal, Compliance and Client Service to develop investment programs and other solutions
Where permissible, maintain regular dialogue with personnel from other divisions who cover the same prospects/clients to stay abreast of firm wide relationships and business levels.
Become a source of insurance industry knowledge and research including assisting with publishing research (white) papers for internal and external communications
Mentoring less experienced members of the team to help develop their insurance / investment knowledge and understanding of their proprietary ALM infrastructure
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
Vice President level based on experience
Experience in the insurance market, providing strategic advice on new developments and trends in the Insurance market; e.g. impact of regulatory changes to investment portfolio
Experience in providing expert knowledge of existing and emerging insurance regulation and potential impact on clients
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong execution and organizational skills
Self-motivated with ability to work across the firm and industry
Proven commercial success
Ability to travel as needed
Local licensing requirements, as required
Accounting and or actuarial experience
International experience
